HERE'S WHAT WE'RE DOING ON OUR TRIP
- Day 1: Chicago O'Hare to Bejing on United Airlines
- Day 2: Arrive in Bejing
- Day 3: Tour of the Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City
- Day 4: The Great Wall of China
- Day 5: Peking University
- Day 6: Fly from Beijing to Shanghai; Cruise on the Tai Lake; Then to Suzhou, known as the “Venice of the East”, built around the Grand Canal.
- Day 7: Sabbath. Sightseeing in Suzhou, including the Grand Canal, Hanshan Temple and the Water Village
- Day 8: Hangzhou. Boat cruise on the West Lake; Visit the Yue Fei Tomb and Liu He Pagoda
- Day 9: Zhejiang University; Experience the exciting Shanghai nightlife tour at Xian Tin De
- Day 10: Shanghai Jiaotong University; World Expo 2010
- Day 11: Fly from Shanghai to Tokyo
- Day 12: University of Tokyo; Visit Asakusa Kannon Temple, Tokyo's oldest temple was founded in 628
- Day 13: Take a cable car ride to the top of Mt. Omuro for a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, Hakone, Izu Seven Islands; Visit Jyoren Waterfall, one of the ten largest waterfalls in Japan. Later, visit a famous wasabi farm to learn about how wasabi--indispensable to Japanese cuisine, is grown and produced.
- Day 14: Sabbath. Meiji Jingu and make a photo stop at a famous Torii which was constructed with woods from juniper trees over 1,500 years old. Ginza District.
- Day 15: Saniku Adventist College; Travel back to Chicago
West Coast (Los Angeles/Seattle/San Francisco) to Bejing: We will be 15 hours ahead. Example: If it is 7 a.m. on Sunday for you, it will be 10 p.m. on Sunday for us. If it is 7 p.m. on Sunday for you, it will be 10 a.m. on Monday for us. If it is 7 p.m. for us on Monday, it will be 4 a.m. on Monday for you.
East Coast (Andrews U., Boston) to Bejing: We will be 12 hours ahead. Example: If it is 7 a.m. on Sunday for you, it will be 7 p.m. on Sunday for us. If it is 7 p.m. on Sunday for you, it will be 7 a.m. on Monday for us. If it is 7 p.m. for us on Monday, it will be 7 a.m. on Monday for you.
TOKYO: Add one hour to the time difference.

PURPOSE OF THE TRIP
Students in the master's and PhD-level programs in K-12, Higher Education, and Leadership at Andrews University are traveling to Asia to learn about international higher education in China and Japan.

UNIVERSITY VISITS
During the trip the tour participants will be visiting Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Tokyo, and Saniku Adventist College.
